    Challenges and opportunities

  • [The new regulation in 2025 formally includes liquid egg products under production permit management for the first time. As a pioneer in China’s liquid egg sector, what are your views on the future prospects of this market? How will Ovodan maintain its leading position?]

The introduction of this standard essentially marks a critical turning point for the liquid egg industry, transitioning from two decades of unregulated growth toward standardization and upgrading. We believe this policy will inject new momentum into market development, and the industry’s prospects will be characterized by “high growth, strong consolidation, and optimized structure.” For Ovodan, facing new opportunities, we will aim for “compliance upgrade, technological leadership, and ecosystem collaboration” to solidify our foundation, empower through technology, and continuously contribute to the high-quality development of the industry.

     Quality, Safety, and “True Quality”

  • [With the gradual phasing out of the “ready-to-eat” certification, how will companies like Ovodan effectively communicate their outstanding safety and quality to buyers and consumers without relying on such labels?]

Ovodan has never relied on “label” control. What we do is implement truly scientific management methods and systematic control measures to manage risks effectively. Ovodan ensures product compliance and qualification through transparent production processes and standardized management. Product quality is verified through batch inspections, random sampling, and type testing, among other methods. Ovodan also conducts industry seminars, promotional exhibitions, collaborations with industry associations, and provides application training for bakers and chefs to demonstrate the safety and advantages of our products.

  • [Ovodan has always emphasized “from farm to table” full-chain quality control and a comprehensive traceability system. In the context of the new regulation’s focus on risk prevention, could you share specific examples of how this system achieves safety assurances that go beyond basic standards?]

From farm to table, the process transforms eggs from agricultural products into food products. Food safety is crucial, especially the control of drug residues. For example, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ Announcement No. 194, which prohibited the addition of antibiotics in feed starting in 2019. However, Ovodan began controlling this as early as 2017 (even though it was still legal at the time) because we believed that without control, product quality risks would become unmanageable. Having already undertaken such work, when the state issued the new regulation, we adapted easily, and the entire supply chain system responded with ease.

       Looking Ahead

  • [This regulatory change is expected to accelerate industry consolidation, benefiting large enterprises with established systems. How does Ovodan plan to leverage this opportunity to further expand its market share or industry influence?]

This regulatory shift presents an opportunity for the industry. Ovodan intends to pursue market share and expand its influence by focusing on both deepening and broadening its efforts. On one hand, deepening our expertise. Leveraging years of technical accumulation in the egg products industry, Ovodan will continue to advance in areas such as industrial extension, new product launches, and channel integration. On the other hand, broadening our scope. In addition to continuing to drive product innovation and vigorous promotion in the retail segment, Ovodan will also enter the shell egg sector. We will utilize our strengths in supply chain management, geographical advantages, and our position as a leading cage-free enterprise to widen and expand our industrial footprint.
